This Privacy Policy explains how Mabon Ledger handles personal data when you use this website, including the tax and VAT calculator. It is intended to cover the basics of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
If you use the calculator, we collect the email address you submit to open it and record your request. The calculator answers stay in your browser for the illustration and are not included in the calculator lead notification. If the calculator cannot responsibly give an illustration, we use the same request to help a support conversation.
We may also receive the information you choose to include when you contact us, such as your name, email address, and message. The website may create ordinary technical records needed to keep it secure and working.
Why we use it
We use your information to process your calculator access request, answer enquiries, keep the website secure, and manage our records. We send occasional practical money tips only if you separately tick the optional marketing box.
Our lawful basis is your consent when you submit your email to open the calculator, and separate consent for optional marketing. We may also rely on our legitimate interests to operate and improve the website, respond to enquiries, and prevent misuse, and on a legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
Who may receive it
We may share personal data with service providers who help us host the website, operate its forms, deliver emails, or keep it secure. For the calculator, this includes the email delivery service used to send messages from the site. Providers may process information only as needed to provide those services.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it if required by law, or where necessary to protect our rights, the website, or its users.
Storage, retention and security
Information is stored on our systems and the systems of the service providers described above. We keep it only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected, to manage an enquiry or ongoing relationship, to meet legal obligations, or to resolve a dispute. We review information that is no longer needed and delete it securely where practical.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including access controls and secure transmission where available, to protect personal data. No method of sending or storing information online can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Subject to the limits and conditions in data protection law, you can ask us for access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, or an explanation of how we use it. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time.
If you opt in to helpful money tips, you can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it, and we may still need to keep information where the law allows or requires us to do so.
